Regional EV Readiness Plan

MARC is working with a steering committee, local governments, utility providers and other electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure stakeholders to develop the Kansas City Regional EV Readiness Plan.

MARC and interested partners will discuss several topics during the planning process. Examples include:

  • Barriers and needs
  • Emerging technologies
  • Land development
  • Policies and best practices
  • Pilot area recommendations
  • Implementation steps

The outcomes of their discussions and data analyses are anticipated to result in a final plan that:

  • Respects the need to decrease Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
  • Complements electrification strategies described in the regional Climate Action Plan, Clean Air Action Plan, Connected KC 2050, and local planning.
  • Leverages the region’s position as an electrification hub.
  • Supports EV use as a mode of clean transportation and market growth.
  • Equitable expansion of the EV charging network.
