Training & Events

Meetings are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of each month, but may be adjusted to accommodate holidays. There is no meeting in July. 

The Regional Homeland Security Coordinating Committee's Training and Exercise Subcommittee (T&E) is committed to offering training in the Greater Kansas City region on homeland security issues, including deterrence, response and recovery.

Please join us on Friday, May 16, for a meeting focused on representation in communications. We’ll hear from peer PIOs, who will talk about how they elevate the voices and needs of communities and residents. Join us to learn about:

1. Fostering trust and credibility through communications.
2. Addressing the needs and concerns of all residents.
3. Effective community engagement.
4. Lessons learned and tips.

L984 is a three-day course that will provide local and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective Task Force/Strike Team Leader on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). The course walks participants through general information, including an overview of the Operations Section and information on incident mobilization, initial situational awareness, and unit management.

Representatives from local governments and environmental organizations come together quarterly to develop a cooperative approach to water quality public education and to meet federal NPDES Phase I/II regulatory requirements.

In-person attendance is encouraged, and a catered lunch will be served.
